Job description.
We are currently on the lookout for a new Head of Finance & Accounting to join us in our Berlin office, the ideal candidate will be reporting to the CEO.
  • Create insightful reports and analyses to enable Senior Management in strategic and financial decision-making. 
  • The Head of Finance & Accounting drives on-time and in-quality execution of accounting and tax reporting requirements to ensure legal and regulatory compliance. 
  • Be able to generate weekly cashflow planning to guarantee sufficient cash on hand to keep operations running
  • On-time delivery of monthly financial accounting
  • The Head of Finance & Accounting acts as sounding board and sparring partner to the business leaders to foster a metrics-driven view on the company performance.
  • You have a consulting attitude and love being a profound professional, being in communication also with the CEO.
  • For further development Fundraising will play a significant role to develop AI competencies and will be led by the Head of Finance & Accounting.
Your profile

  • You have an academic background with studies in Business Administration, Economics or equivalent. An apprenticeship as an accountant of tax clerk would be of advantage.
  • You have 4-5 years of practical experience in accounting or balance sheet accounting and have in-depth knowledge of the German Commercial Code 
  • First experience in the management of employees (m / f / d) would be desirable, otherwise an interest in taking on leadership as well as empathy and talent for the appreciative leadership of employees (m / f / d) is a prerequisite.
  • Professional use of MS Office (especially Excel) and DATEV user knowledge. 
  • You have very good written/ spoken German and English skills whilst also having good communication skills with a confident demeanour paired with positive attitude.
  • You have a good understanding of processes and interfaces in accounting. You encourage collaboration and exchange across departmental boundaries and are interested in working on cross-departmental projects
  • You are characterized by pronounced analytical and conceptual skills, enjoy working in a team, but also convince through an independent, structured and result-oriented way of working. A high sense of responsibility and diligence for your area are among your strengths.
